Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Ethan Glass ("we," "us," "our") handles information in connection with the Edge mobile app ("the App"). Please read it carefully. By using Edge, you agree to this policy.

The short version: Edge is built to be privacy-friendly. Your learning progress, streak, and settings are stored only on your device — we don't run servers that collect them, and we can't see them. The only outside parties that receive any data are Google AdMob (to show ads that keep the App free) and Apple (if you use Sign in with Apple or buy Edge Pro). You can opt out of personalized ad tracking, and deleting the App erases your data.

1. Information stored on your device

Edge stores the following locally on your device only. This data is not transmitted to us and we have no way to access it:

  • Learning progress — lessons completed, drill results, accuracy, streaks, best times, and stats.
  • Daily energy and Edge Pro status (whether you've subscribed).
  • Profile basics — the display name you enter and, if you use Sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple provides.
  • App settings — such as your appearance (light/dark) preference.

Because this information lives on your device, deleting the App permanently deletes it.

2. Information collected by third parties

Edge does not operate its own analytics or user-data servers. However, two third parties may collect information through the App:

a) Google AdMob (advertising)

The free version of Edge shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect information such as your device advertising identifier (IDFA), approximate location (derived from IP), device information, and ad-interaction data. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's own policies:

Edge also uses Apple's SKAdNetwork, a privacy-preserving framework for measuring ad performance without tracking individual users.

If you subscribe to Edge Pro, ads are removed and no ad-related data is collected through AdMob.

b) Apple

  • Sign in with Apple (optional): if you choose it, Apple authenticates you and provides us a user identifier (and, if you allow, your name). This is handled under Apple's privacy policy. You can use Edge without an account.
  • In-app purchases / subscriptions: purchases of Edge Pro are processed by Apple. Apple handles all payment information — we never receive or store your payment details.

3. App Tracking Transparency (ATT) & advertising choices

When required, Edge will ask for your permission to track via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before using your IDFA for personalized advertising. You can decline — Edge remains fully functional, and ads simply become less personalized. You can change this anytime in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking on your device. You can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in iOS settings.

4. How information is used

  • On-device data is used solely to run the App — track your progress, manage daily energy, and personalize your experience.
  • AdMob data is used by Google to select, deliver, and measure ads.
  • Apple data is used to authenticate optional sign-in and process purchases.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data retention & deletion

  • On-device data persists until you delete it by removing the App or clearing its data.
  • For data held by Google or Apple, refer to their respective privacy policies and account controls.
  • To delete all data Edge stores about you, simply uninstall the App.

6. Children's privacy

Edge is rated 17+ and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us at the email below and we will address it.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information:

  • EEA / UK (GDPR): rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. Because Edge stores your data on your device, you exercise most of these by managing or deleting the App. For data processed by Google/Apple, use their tools.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA): rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your data. To opt out of personalized advertising, decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
  • Other regions: you may have similar rights under local law.

To make a request or ask a question, contact us at the email in Section 10.

8. Security

We rely on your device's built-in protections and the security practices of Apple and Google for any data they process. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but because Edge keeps your learning data on your device, your exposure is minimal.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the App or on this page. Continued use of Edge after changes means you accept the updated policy.
